FedEx/Kinko's places offer faxing service. Do you have a scanner at home? You might be able to pdf it and send it in an email. The 7-11 near me has faxing services. Staples and Office Depot also offer fax services. Let me know if that helps.
As for your "friend", if she's not willing to understand why you're distancing yourself from her, she's a pretty fucking SELFISH friend.
