I feel like your in highschool, and what you gotta remember about highschool is that it's Douche Baggery. It hasn't been a year since I graduated and all the dumb bs that went on in highschool I have already forgotten. Be the bigger woman and when every people say dumb shit to you say "k."

Heh heh I get the same with the Keiser Chiefs, now they're big over here, my "Everything is Brilliant in Leeds" t-shirt (which is my home city) got mocked a little in the beginning but then they got big.... I find it more annoying if people listen to the music I listen to because it becomes trendy than them mocking my taste in music. My flatmate is like that, he'll dismiss music I like then 2 months down the line he'll name drop the band to people to somehow get "cool points" or something.
