So, I planned a little mini vacation a few weeks back with my fam in Philly. We were going to take a group trip to Allentown and spend the day at Dourney Park. I took a few days off work and made arrangements to leave my dog, Rico, at my mom's house. I dropped him off Friday afternoon around 1:30-2pm. Picked my girl up from work and grabbed some food since we had a few hours before the flight. After we ate we headed straight for the airport. Just as I pulled in the parking lot my phone started ringing. The parking attendant in one ear and my brother in the other. My bro asking where I was and if I was sitting down. The attendant directing me to the nearest open spot. I make a b line for an open spot as I heard the last words I ever expected him to say... he came home to check on the dogs and found Rico lifeless along the fence. Rigor mortis had already kicked in (and at this moment I still don't know what happened). My heart dropped to the floor and my whole body was numb. My bestfriend was gone and I couldn't do anything about it. I tried my best to hold back the tears but I couldn't. Somehow I managed to continue with our plans. My girlfriend arranged for my bro to take Rico to the animal hospital where she works so that we could handle the situation when we returned. I was able to get my mind off of it for the moment and managed to have a little fun at the amusement park but... now I'm back home and reality is hitting harder than ever. He wasn't there to greet me at the door and his toys were still scattered around my bedroom floor and I broke down again. I'm going to miss you Rico... RIP...
