Saturday night I ended up somewhere a bit out of my element completely by surprise. A metal show. Our roommate had some buddies in town who were playing a show at a bar called Howlers in Pittsburgh so we all went to check them out. I was told that the music was 'rock'.
To say the least, it was interesting.
I tried to hide my permanent look of surprise every time one of the band's lead singers would growl/scream/wail into the mic.
Really though after the initial shock of it wore off, I had a great time and even got into a few of the songs. After the bar, we hit our awesome new deck for some drinks with the band, named A Second From the Surface, and these two hotty polish exchange students they picked up at the bar.
I promised to keep my hands to myself. Who am I to deny the band their groupies?

Then today the hubby (may he RIP as his account is being deleted) and I went to see Star Wars Episode III. I have to say I was hugely fucking impressed.
Not being what ppl would call a die hard fan, but more like someone who can enjoy the movies on occasion, a couple parts of this movie really grabbed me and made me appreciate the whole series a lot more.
*possible spoilers*
The scene where Darth Vader gets his helmet for the first time was fucking rad. It's all dark, black and shiny. When it closes and the whispy smoke slips out. Then you hear the first breath he takes. It's almost spine tingling.
When Obi Wan and Anakin fight at the end is so amazingly intense. I got a bit choked up even. The emotion involved was wicked.
Episode I & II were pretty corny at times, but I have to say III made up for it. It had a better script, the acting was better, and it had the climax I'd been waiting for.
Congrats George Lucas.
On a side note, I have always noticed that Im strangely drawn to men who love Star Wars. Today, I realized I could never fully respect a man who didnt, at the very least, dig it a whole lot. It's an epic tale of good vs. evil, with the best villians and heroes ever to be on the big screen.
Completely random point, Anakin looked so yummily hot as evil Anakin. I may have a thing for bad boys?
