so my birthday is approaching, and i feel a bit of trepidation.
i want to have some kind of celebration, invite my friends--but the thing is, i don't know who my friends are.
are they the people i live/work with, even though i really have nothing in common with them and we have never exchanged a meaningful word?
is it the few japanese i spend time with, even though they don't really know anything about me and only like to hang out because i'm a foreigner?
does it matter?
I just don't want this to suck.
