Prejudice is a forgotten word sometimes. It's a little bit of everything. All you have to do, is pre-judge something, anything.

Sexism is discrimination based on sex. That's all. If you bring sex into any deciding process, that's sexist.

Chauvinism is where things get nasty. My sex is better than your sex therefore we should be the superior choice for whatever the fuck it is. Women can't serve in combat, leave it to us men. Men can't cook or run a household, us women do that better. Chauvinism is one sex postulating superiority to the opposite sex.

Misogyny (spelled wrong above)- is the hatred of women. Hatred is defined as intense hostility and animosity. I think the social effect on the female baby survival rate in China in the last several decades is a form of misogyny. I think that character from kids that knew he had aids and still slept around was a misogynist. You don't hear too much about women misogynists but they're out there.

So when discussing discrimination, remember, it's not just one ist at a time, a person is usually of mix of ists and isms.
