Let me start with 2. Going in, I was excited. 1 was awesome. Not the best movie ever but it had me excited for the series. Coming out of 2, I was meh. Not so hateful of it, there was disappointment. So with 3, I'm just hoping there is no any of these:
1. Racist cars. The twins in 2 are hands down racist.
2. If I see robots fighting each other, I want to know which side they're on. Transformers 2 had more indistinguishable robots than Caligula had orgy members.
3. No boring quest shit. I don't want to watch annoying humans look for a damn prehistoric whatever the hell it was when robot aliens can be fighting.
4. Don't stress my suspension of disbelief. Optimus dies and comes back. Okay, it's emotional pay off. Could have been better but didn't outright suck. On the other hand, Shia Lebouf dies, and I am sitting there hoping he stays dead because as soon as he gets revived, he's telling Megan Fox he loves her for the first time. That sucks, on a hokey level, and so many other levels. I can deal with robot aliens fighting each other on Earth, don't give me flat cliche storytelling that I don't even bother to process.
So, going into 3, I am expecting better story than 2. Not the lowest bar ever set but it's still pretty low. I'm expecting less racism. I'm expecting more action....
Good job team, you did it. You made a movie that was better than the previous item.
Now to nitpick
-really? you couldn't make the victoria secret model less of a damsel in distress?
-the idle hand joke was wasted
-half this movie was paid for by the government.
-The other half was paid for by product placement.
-The movie does two things that I will always remember it for: Champion poor people and make the government look dumb.
-I won't say sexist, but there's a scene where the victoria secret model gets objectified.
-There were no real new autobots. There was maybe one or two but they're not ones I remember.
(I'm not the biggest transformers fan so I'm not really the one to talk. Somebody ask Bob)
-I think there was mixup at one point where they call Soundwave Shockwave. I'd have to see it again to be sure.
Final Thought:
[/SPOILER]
In other news, I found my summer show. I really haven't had a show I can watch reverently since Samurai Champloo was on Adult Swim. The biggest surprise for me is that it's on MTV. And it's remake of an 80s movie. In name only. Which is totally the most unreliable kind of remake.
I'm really liking Teen Wolf on MTV.
It's funny. There's mystery. There's drama. And it's the good kind. It's not "I can't be with you because I can't decide if I like you more than the guy I really like that won't like me back as much because he can't really like me too much or me feel guilty about like liking me too much and bad liking me in a way he can't take back. But I'm so going to invite you to our wedding for the whole awkward can of worms that the scene at the open bar will be. Oh my god, I want a baby. It's okay to have a baby when you're married no matter how young you are."
