Well, three things from the past twenty four hours.
1. Gene Colan died. Anyone who read my last blog probably already knows that. He was an industry great and he was a good guy.
2. I have a plan for New York Comic Con. One of the projects I want to work on is "Draw Batman Without Looking." Last year, a friend of mine asked Ryan Benjamin what character he liked to draw. He said, "I can draw Batman. I can draw Batman blindfolded." So my friend called him out on it. What happened was one of the most fun things to witness. So I"m hoping to repeat the spectacle repeatedly.
I'm all registered up. Added a new website of things I have to get up and running. I'm a cheap bastard so I just found a tumblr set up I can add pages to and I'm going to connect that to facebook, deviantart, and youtube. Fun fun fun.
3. Swimming is hard. Having a four foot deep pool does not prepare you for actual swimming. I rode my bike around the lake the opposite way I normally do, which I found to be a lot harder. The way I normally ride is up the big hill, and down hill the rest of the way. So going the opposite way, I find it to be all uphill and downhill very little. Halfway around, I decided to stop at the local beach. They moved the dock out to 50 yards off the shore. Swam out there. Completely gassed out when I got there. I can ride my bike ten miles and have fuel left. I swim seventy five feet and I am about to pass out. In the middle of the water. I figured it was time to come in and go home when the thunder started. Either way, I've found my new routine. If I want to work my upper body, I'm going swimming.
