For those who have never been to a comic convention, here's some pointers:

1. Bring money. You can always enjoy convention with just a ticket and a smile but money helps. Especially when things are cheap and available. Above all, bring money.

2. If you get offered a shot at having drinks with a hot chick that's into you or what you're into, take it. But remember, rule number one, bring money.

3. If you see a book that's half off and it's got creases or cracks or someone hocked a loogie on your favorite page: Haggle. If it ain't worth the spit in the pages, make the dealer feel like you're doing him a service by taking it off his hands. But remember to bring money. But if you got a date afterwards with the hot chick that has the same tastes as you, bring money to that.

4. Use a good camera for pictures. Your cellphone might have a good camera. But otherwise, avoid disposable cameras. Take it from me, it costs ten bucks for the camera but it costs twenty bucks in cash to find a damn store that actually develops a digital disposable camera. You brought money to the con, you want to bring some of it home. Unless drinks were very good with the hot chick, the photos can wait. Or can they?

5. Little reminder, the bigger the convention, the more there is to do. The more inclined you are to buy things, to wait in line for autographs, get things signed, the more money you're going to want to spend. Don't spend it on hot chicks that charge for photos or autographs, but do spend it on drinks with hot chicks if possible but don't bother if your disposable camera can't even provide a proper flash.

Shout out to everyone at Big Apple Con and New York Comic Con this month.
