What is mental health? It has a few different aspects to it which includes our emotional, psychological, and social well being. It affects how we act, think, and feel. It also helps determine how we handle stress, how we relate to others and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage in life.
In our overall health, mental and physical health are equally important. Mental health can change over time depending on many factors. When the demands placed on a person exceed their resources and coping abilities, mental health can be impacted. Some of those demands can be work related, family related, social interaction just to name a few.
Some tips for improving mental well being I’ve been reading about are…
-relax and reduce stress
-find ways to be creative and learn new things
-get out and enjoy nature
-connect with others
-be aware of your physical health
-try to get enough sleep
