After much research and thinking and nail-biting, I've decided I'm moving to Portland! There are a lot of great cities out there all with pros and cons, so I just went with the momentum and chose Portland. I always love every place I live, so I simply needed to make a decision. Portland seems like a pretty cool place though, as so many people have told me. I'm sure I will love it to death and never want to leave.

Now to sort everything out and prepare to move though. [>_<] There are some fire department applications and tryouts right on the cusp of my move. I will have to leave Japan immediately to make them. Though there may be some I will miss depending on my contract completion date. I may have to wait a year, or even two, to apply again. That's alright though. I can develop my resume with school, training, and certifications in the mean time, and also establish myself in the bar scene. Bartending/alcohol can always be a fall back as my primary income.
