Ack. I should be studying now. Just an hour ago I had a solid hour of empty time to apply to productive studying. Instead, I blew that hour reading the news and looking at naked girls. Granted, that in itself is not a waste. It's the fact that I only have 10 days before my Japanese proficiency exam, and plenty more than 10 days worth of studying to do to prepare for it that is the problem.

If you're feeling equally compelled to slack, here's some fodder I stumbled upon in the last hour:

Genius television skit idea: "the idea is to find a pretty girl and have her introduce the host to a friend she considers better-looking than herself, repeating the process until that country's most beautiful woman is found." It's in Japanese, but you don't have to understand any to enjoy it. Well, just one pointer: "Kawaii" means cute/lovely/beautiful. And it's even more overused in Japan than "cute" is in the US.

A new book confirming all my fears of the past several years. Ugh. I believe my time in India and Japan the past three years has given me a unique perspective on the US, the country I love, but which equally horrifies and repulses me. I am honestly torn about where to spend my future even though my plan for a long time now has been to return to the US for firefighting.
