While I do consider it to be participatory and investigative learning, and not the mindless entertainment that TV is, spending multiple hours of my day surfing the internet keeps me from more pertinent and productive tasks regardless...
I have tons of shit I really need/want to get done. I need to take some days to myself and forgo all the social engagements I'm usually loaded with. Not to say they're not fun! Living in Japan has been more engaging for me than even college was. I do amazing stuff almost weekly here. In the coming weeks I'll be: bartending a couple large parties, making more Japanese paper dolls, hand planting rice, watching cormorant fishing (catching fish by firelight with trained birds), and spending a weekend on an island for deep sea fishing (they specialize in octopus!). But, I do need some "me time" in there.
