Dentaru
Way back in November I had a chipped molar. The old [url]amalgam filling allowed bacteria to enter a crack which then rotted and caused a piece to separate off, but was still strong enough to keep the piece in place. It wasn't painful or anything, but I needed to get it fixed. So I asked around and found a dentist nearby.

I've been going to the dentist every week for the past 3 months.

Japanese dental care is interesting. They only ever perform one step at a time. Of course things like inlays require two visits. But who ever heard of cleaning lasting two visits? The top for one, the bottom for another (yet despite 'more' time, they do a shitty job compared to American dentists...)

My statement about weekly visits is misleading. I haven't been going for that one tooth the whole time. I've been going for everything imaginable. Dental care in Japan is covered under national insurance, and that insurance covers 70% of the cost. Each of my visits, depending on the procedures only costs about $10-15! (insert: evil grin) So I told the dentist to fix anything that might possibly need repairs in the near future. So he's replacing all my old fillings with new inlays and doing some other work also.

It should also be known that I like going to the dentist. I love going to any doctor. I think it's fascinating. I especially like going to this dentist though. His office is amazingly modern and high tech (on your first visit, he uses a little camera to take pictures of problem areas which are displayed on a swivel lcd right in front of the chair). He speaks okay English, he takes the time to explain everything clearly and in detail, and he's always friendly and chatty.

His office is also fully stocked with numerous dental assistant babes. With their cute little pastel green 50's dress uniforms, paper caps, and knee high stockings, I'm shamelessly in love with them all. I like to imagine they giggle coyly at me because they all have secret crushes on me. And that they stand around in a group whispering about how hunky I am after I leave. And that they fight over who gets to be my assistant that day. And that sucking drool out of my mouth every week while staring at my awful rotten teeth isn't a huge turnoff. Right...?
