Getting outside!!!
So I went to Sportmart this week just to get the coolers that were on sale... a 13 gallon, a lunchbox-size, and a water-jug, all for $15. I ended up picking up a pair of hiking boots and a framed backpack, and dropped $113 for everything.
I really need to get out of civilization for some time. I've been cooped up in the concrete jungle for too damn long. I don't have daddy-duties tomorrow, so I'm taking full advantage of it and going for a nice day-hike. These boots need breaking in, and the fresh air is just what I need to be alive. I think the smog is killing me.
Back in March, I hit a trail along the Tujunga Wash road, I think I may try another one off the Angeles Crest Highway tomorrow. I'm also scoping out spots to do some overnight backpacking. I hope to do more of these day hikes to get the ol' limbs ready to go. There's all sorts of wild things out around the LA area, it's just going to take some time and effort to find them all.
