Just a quick update today.
Finally saw "Star Trek." All of the hype surrounding it still couldn't prepare me for its greatness. It was a brilliant re-envisioning of the source material, tremendously fun from start to finish, and I can easily say that it was the best movie I've seen yet this year. Can't wait to see it again.
It's a busy week at the job. We've got the Regional Director AND the Senior VP of Operations in town, so the boys and I have been busting our asses to get the store clean and shiny. With the exception of a couple of light fixtures that still need to be repaired, the store is looking better now than it ever has.
I'm also trying to find a better balance between the time I spend in the store and the time I spend performing my Team Lead duties, because with me being out of the store more often, performance hasn't quite been what I've wanted it to be. We had a good finish last week, but most of that can be attributed to the fact that I worked Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I don't mind working all weekend from time to time, but I'd like to get us back to the level where I know I can take a few days off and everything will still be just fine.
Nine Inch Nails with Jane's Addiction on Friday night. This is allegedly NIN's last tour, as Trent Reznor has grown weary of the touring process and wants to concentrate solely on writing and recording. I haven't seen them play live since The Fragile 2.0 tour, so I'm really looking forward to this.
And next Wednesday - Margot and the Nuclear So and Sos. OMFG.
