There's a lot to be said for wandering a post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland, scavenging for food, medicating radiation sickness, and battling giant mutant ants that breathe fire. Yes, "Fallout 3" has arrived, and it threatens to consume me. The sheer amount of choices you find yourself faced with is staggering, and the massive, seamless gameworld that Bethesda has created is nothing short of overwhelming. I don't see this having much competition in the "Game of the Year" category.

My sleep schedule has been thrown completely off-kilter thanks to the midnight releases, early-morning inventory sessions, and late nights at the bar. Two more launches this week (only one of them really being important enough to conduct), and I should finally be able to get back into some sort of regular routine. And just in time - business has already begun to ramp up considerably, and I'm going to need all of the energy I can muster for the week of Thanksgiving. Black Friday is always an endurance test.

After watching every episode (to date) of "Californication," I was inspired to start writing again. I've got a handful of pages, which is more than I've managed to produce in a long time, and I still have quite a few ideas bouncing around my head, waiting to be fleshed out. Writing is something I truly love to do, and it's exciting to finally feel capable of doing it again (blogging excluded, of course).

Looks like Dad and Jan will be making the trek out here for the Xmas holiday. I can't really afford to go home, and even if I could I wouldn't be able to get the time off from work, due to vacation blackout. It's one of the things I hate about working retail - if you don't live close to home, then you can pretty much expect to sacrifice spending time with your family during the holidays. It's especially frustrating this year, as there is an important event taking place for my family that I won't be able to be a part of. Oh well - that's life, right?

I wanna start a fucking band.
