Like I said in the last entry - normal life resumes. Working my usual schedule, then coming home and falling asleep on the couch in front of the TV. Fielding too many phonecalls from my employees regarding stuff that shouldn't require a phonecall. Going out on Thursdays to Mill for drinks with Kate and company, and then to Clicks to play pool with Dave and chat with Dejah. Lounging around on Sundays, doing laundry and preparing to start the process all over again.

Status quo. But today I mixed things up just a bit. After lying around on the couch for most of the day, I cleaned myself up and went out to Hollywood Alley to check out a trio of female-fronted bands.

Up first was my friend Talia's band, Radio Drag, playing their first show in more than two years. I had always wanted to see them play when I lived in Arizona the first time around, but they all went their separate ways before the opportunity presented itself. You would never have known they had stopped playing, however - their set was tight and fast-paced, perfectly setting the tone for the rest of the evening.

And wow - Talia looked GREAT. *swoon*

They were followed by Killola, from Los Angeles, who quickly captured the attention of every person in the building, thanks to the tremendous energy they brought to the stage, not to mention the antics of their singer. Writhing around on the floor, flailing her arms, climbing on tables - this lady definitely knew how to entertain, and it was hard to take your eyes off her for even a second, lest you miss something important. They were a lot of fun, and I recommend checking them out - you can download their new record for free on their MySpace page.

Headlining the show was The Action Design, featuring Agent M from Tsunami Bomb. I caught their set at Warped earlier this year, and had been looking forward to seeing them in a more intimate setting. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. There were only about 75 people in the whole place, but the band played just as hard as they did for the hundreds of people who were there at Warped. It's good to see that level of dedication. And I fucking LOVE Emily's voice, not to mention the fact that she comes across as incredibly down-to-earth and seems to have a genuine love and respect for her fans.

Three good bands featuring three beautiful ladies. Can't go wrong with that.

Last time I wrote, I mentioned a desire to travel. So I bought some plane tickets. I'll be back in Indiana in a few weeks for my birthday, and I'll be sticking around to do some visiting.

Sept 24th-29th.
