Having Mia in town was a blast. It feels like forever since we were able to really spend any time together and have fun like we used to, and we did our best to make up for all the time we lost. We ate shitty food, watched TV, hung out with Dave and Kate, went to the zoo, played pool, and insulted each other in horrific (and hilarious) fashion. I think I may have set a world record for the number of times the words "tramp" and "slut" were used in a given time period.
She told me on more than one occasion that I was her best friend (usually following it up with some sort of derogatory comment, such as the one on my MySpace page), and the truth is, as frustrated as I might get with her sometimes and as batshit insane as she can be, I don't know what I'd do without her.
I dropped her off at the airport this morning on my way to work, and just like that, life was back to normal. I spent most of the day getting things at the store back in order with Dave's assistance, and then hit the gym on the way home to start compensating for all of the terrible, terrible things I consumed last week. Although I won't be able to work out next week while we're at the National Sales Conference, I'm hoping the food isn't as terrible as it was last year - otherwise, the ass-kicking I intend to give myself this week will just be a big waste of time and I'll find myself right back where I started.
Thursday I have a followup scheduled with my optometrist, so he can see how I'm adjusting to the new contacts. I've been having some trouble with them the past few days, but still not nearly as bad as the first time around. Hopefully we can make a few minor adjustments and be done with this whole ordeal. I definitely don't wanna have to go back to wearing glasses all the time, but I'm also a big fan of being able to see.
Thursday night I should be out with Kate and Company once again, this time with Dave in tow as well. I think I'm also going to drag Dave down to check out Clicks - I played some pool there the other night with Mia and Asian Dave, and it's definitely our kind of place. Good music, cheap drinks, friendly staff... reminds me of Jughead's, just not as conveniently located.
Completely off topic - despite being one of the smaller breeds of "big cat," it seems that ocelots are extremely difficult to keep as pets. Goddammit.
