It's 101 degrees outside right now. The sun is shining, there's a light breeze, and it feels fantastic. I love Arizona.

Dave and I hit up the Warped Tour last week, and even though we had to put up with intense heat and an unprecedented number of douchebaggy scene kids, it was a pretty good time. Story of the Year put on a surprisingly energetic set, which even Dave seemed to enjoy despite not really being a fan. We got to meet and chat with the folks from The Action Design (featuring Emily from Tsunami Bomb), and saw a great little acoustic set from Gym Class Heroes, complete with a cover of Prince's "When Doves Cry." Say Anything was decent, but a terrible sound mix and a crappy setlist ruined it for me a bit. And of course, the highlight of the day was Every Time I Die, who played an absolutely brutal set and created a circle pit of epic proportions.

Good times.

Other than that, things are pretty much status quo around here. Work continues to go well, with the store gradually improving from week to week. We start the 3rd Quarter on Monday, which means we'll be running with a clean slate and I won't have to worry about six weeks of someone else's shitty numbers dragging us down. We've made great strides since I took over, and actually finished at the top of our district last week, but the next twelve weeks will be a true example of what we're capable of accomplishing.

I've been slacking in my workout routine, cutting back to only once or twice a week. I could sit here and try to make excuses, but the fact of the matter is that I've simply gotten lazy. My weight hasn't begun to suffer yet, as I'm still holding steady at about 226, but I know if I continue to let it slide that I'm going to start undoing all of the progress I've made. Starting tomorrow, I'm going to get myself focused and get back into the swing of things. My goal is to be below the 200 mark by the end of the year.

I've had some ideas for a film swirling around in my head for awhile now, but I've begun to think about expanding them into a series, something we can stretch out for ten or twelve episodes. The opportunity to spend more time developing characters is certainly appealing, but doing something on that scale also requires a much bigger commitment from everyone involved. Granted, I haven't even acquired a camera yet, but we're not too far from the beginning of the fall semester, and I'm sure I can find some film students eager to work on a project just for the experience. I suppose it's high time to stop talking about writing something and actually do it.

I wanna go to Hollywood for a weekend. Who's with me?
