That's cool, my trainer went to state something like three times while in high school.
While a background in amatuer wrestling is preferable it is not necessary to becoming a pro wrestler. They are in many ways two completely different animals.
I have trained in many different martial arts over the years and when i got into pro wrestling i had to, while in the ring, change my whole approach to physical combat.
In every other form of fighting it is the other guy beating the shit out of you while in pro wrestling it is you who must hurt yourself the majority of the time.
Not that things can't get very real sometimes. I hate all those people who go, "wrasslin's fake as hell", i'd like to see them take a steel chair to the face sometime and then tell me how fake it is then.
The term "fake" is incorrect, what we do is staged as far as the overall outcome is concerned but the physical damage we put ourselves and others through is all to real sometimes.

aye. for what it is worth, i've been there with da split business and like you say, it sucks more for the dishonesty than anything else. kinda finds one asking what other dishonest stuff was going down while in coupledom. i still think about that gal from time2time now, some 9 year after. what really fucking bugs me is she has moved on yet here i still fester. so all i can offer is don't let that be you. if i knew how one goes about that... well i don't, but wish ya well and hope 2004 doesn't turn out to be 2003 continued.
