So it's 5am and I decide to go to bed. My mind says "oh, David, before you go, I've got a question I need answered: What is happiness?"
So I say "not tonight, brain, I'd really just like to get some sleep."
And my brain laughs, and then stops suddenly and asks, "I also want to know why humor exists. I'm sorry, but you don't...

i'm glad i have you around.
i'm listening to your version of al by myself.
we should have made something.
waldo_____:
I used not to like "why" questions much. They tend not to have answers, or at least the answers they produce are always open to another question beginning "Why... ?"

What they are useful for, though, is working out who you are and where your sticking points are. I doubt that's much help, but there you go.

"Alone, even doing nothing, you do not waste your time. You do, almost always, in company. No encounter with yourself can be altogether sterile: Something necessarily emerges, even if only the hope of some day meeting yourself again."

-E.M. Cioran (b. 1911), Rumanianborn French philosopher.

Isn't it comforting just because someone else said it and was quoted?
llouys:

We are great
fools. "He has passed his life in idleness," say we: "I have done
nothing to-day." What? have you not lived? that is not only the
fundamental, but the most illustrious, of your occupations. "Had I been
put to the management of great affairs, I should have made it seen what I
could do." "Have you known how to meditate and manage your life? you
have performed the greatest work of all." In order to shew and develop
herself, nature needs only fortune; she equally manifests herself in all
stages, and behind a curtain as well as without one. Have you known how
to regulate your conduct, you have done a great deal more than he who has
composed books. Have you known how to take repose, you have done more
than he who has taken empires and cities.

montaigne. kind of overquoted but i like it anyway.

llouys:
Actually come to think of it i probably could have quoted just one of those sentences wink

Let's go post some futuristicalisms roight now even!

Ok. Once, just once, I'd like to go to a doctor that wasn't a pervert.
First off, when you go to listen to someone's chest, you stand off to the side of them, you DO NOT stand and rub your package against the patient's knee so that he can feel the blood flow increasing to your fucking cock.

Secondly, when the patient comes in for...

I once had a dentist that would rest his balls on my hand while he was checking my teeth. Fucking preverts.
synapse:
I always has this particular doctor that would give me like, 15 minute long breast exams, and talk to me and look into my eyes the whole time - creepster. And then would pull on and snap my nipples. Now, I know that you're suppose to squeeze the nipples to check for discharge (ew), but man, the torque she was handling was similar to her firing a slingshot! your doctor does in fact = asshat.

The process is more one of research for those of us in the group. We look over the posts of the person applying and make a decision based on those and any personal knowledge.

Why did I look sad?

See, I get discouraged seeing many of the female SG sets. I see a lack of inspiration in a lot of them. Perhaps becoming 'pink' is more important to some girls than the energy and artistry of the photos.
So my set was a response to that, or my perception of their lack of care about the artistry made plain....

yeah, nutsack.
I put a new protest set up on SB.

Why bother trying to be sexy?
Your artificial modifications add temporary value.
So what?

I'm hoping that my set has a defiantly asexual aura.
We'll see.

Natasha Vita-More huh? Where are you going to school?

I met both her and Max More this summer at Transvision. They're incredibly interesting people but sometimes I think they're too caught up in their dreams of living forever to stop and see the bigger picture...

I sent you a friend request. I was intrigued by your set . I wondered why you looked sad.

I've seriously coughed up a lung and half in this past week. I sure hope the doctor has something for me on Tuesday.

In great news:
I finally figured out a way to manipulate Cubase SX to work with the EWQLSO so that dropouts do not occur when rendering to audio. It still limits the number of tracks pretty bad, but at least I can...

What can we do about our mothers?

My mom wrote me today, saying simply: "I feel stuck."

She doesn't ever say things like that. While it's been the case since 1995, and I've wished there was something I could do (knowing that money is the only thing that would help her, and her knowing that I wouldn't spend my life pursuing money).

And in turn...

If you'd done the Business thing for your mother's sake, would you now resent her for it? I don't know you, I can't answer. But it'd be a risk for me.
Asking your last question is enough to convince me you're not being selfish, if that's worth anything. Don't beat yourself up.

yes, you are correct.

9 days now with this flu.
Fairly certain I have the bronchitis. Not looking forward to anti-biotics. Having only ever taken them once, and knowing that doctors assume we all take them alot, I fear a dosage that is too high, and just causes me to puke all over the place.

I'd like to go for a drive sometimes.
I've been in these 10 square meters...
