War:
I'm told that hockey gloves offer excellent protection for the hands, so I will be looking into a pair to see how well they perform against wasters and shinai. Sure, they're a bit bulky, but so are maille-lined leather gloves (which are beyond my budget). The big variable, I think, will be how they effect one's grip on the sword.
Art:
I spent several frustrating hours on Skotaios (that damn squid ring). Because the wax model is so delicate, I have to be very gentle else cracks will form along the band and on other thin areas (the feeder tentacles).
I'm hoping the production house will be able to cast it--so far, it's a lot less clean than the waxes I've carved in the past; I can't seem to lose the air bubbles.
I will be spending another week trying to refine the surfaces. Hopefully, I won't damage it more in the process.

I'm glad you liked it.
