My dad rules. He was on ESPN news this weekend because of his expertise in war crimes and genocide. On ESPN! Apparently, the 1941 Lituanian basketball decided to "celebrate" their victory against the German team by killing ten innocent Jewish people. Allegations have now surfaced that two members of that team are now living in Connecticut. While there is no doubt that the executions took place, there is very little evidence to support that these specific individuals had anything to do with it, and that's what my dad was discussing. He headed up the Office of Special Investigations for the Dept of Justice back when I was just coming into the world - their sole purpose was pretty much tracking down Nazi war criminals living in America, so he's pretty well versed about this sort of thing, and the dangers involved in making false allegations with no evidence to back it up. Interesting stuff, really. My dad's awesomeness is further evidenced by the conversation that took place later on Easter, a few hours after being on ESPN:

In the car with my family, driving to extended family gathering -
My grandfather: Hey, what are you reading?
Me: Oh, the Da Vinci Code. I figured I'd take a day off from schoolwork and everyone attests that this book can be read in a couple of hours. I figured I'd give in and read it.
My Grandfather: Ahh, yes. Da Vinci. What ever happened to him?
My Dad: He caught a code.

Awesome.

Hey I'm joining the law group. Thanks for the tip. And yes, the Nazis in the USA should be tracked down, along with all the violent fundies and the Christian Right (whoops was that out loud).
