Cat Adoption Team, one of the most unique, fantastic, wonderful feline shelters in America, nay, the world, is holding their annual benefit auction this Friday, the 7th.
I will be there, in a fabulous dress, sitting at one of the sponsor tables (yes, my job affords me these luxuries).
You should be there too. Tickets are 90 bucks, but it is for a truly amazing cause. If you have the money you really should go. Evan Kalik, founder of CAT, has a fantastic story. Instead of putting his wealth towards his own benefit, he used it to save poor homeless kitties. If you didn't know, about half of all cats and kittens that enter normal shelters are euthanized. At CAT, they are a no kill shelter. If a cat needs medical care, it gets it. Just because a cat is severely injured or ill does not mean it is put down-it means that the cat gets the care it needs. And they never euthanize for space-due in large part to a dedicated network of volunteer foster parents. In fact, CAT takes a large portion of their cats from other shelters, reducing the rate of euthanasia in those facilities as well.
So, if you didn't realize it, we have a treasure in our community. Please help support CAT, because homeless pets are the responsibility of EVERYONE.
