biggrin For some reason I'm really giddy about this, today at work a kid came in with his parent just looking around at clothes. They put me in mind of the all american family, the kid I think he was 17 or 18 was one of those overly smart nerdy guys (very much like my own brother) and his parents dressed in the Gap outfits blah blah. So anyways, he ended up getting a shirt and his mom asked if he wanted to get a pair of pants and at first he said no. Then I nicely offer a suggestion that we have some really awesome jeans and shorts on sale right now... Poor kid goes "Oh okay well I'll look at pants." He then asks if I would help him sort through the jeans to find "a cool pair" biggrin. He was so cute, he's all "oh I don't keep up with trends I dress in whatever is comfortable" I laughed because that's exactly my brother. We don't find the right pair of jeans but I tell them where else to look and before he leaves I simply say "being comfortable is better than the latest trends" He just lighted up.
Something about his body language when he left said I made his day... I guess because I look the way I do and I didn't treat him like shit. I actually like the guy... he just became my favorite customer... besides the gay boy that came in buying a blue corset. He was funnier than anything!

I'm getting in the Halloween Spirit because Saw 3 comes out. For the past 2 years I go to see "Saw" It's more or less a psychological slasher film but I enjoy it. Tomorrow I get paid, ugh I can't wait. No more bumming money off of Paul or my mom...which reminds me I need to pay her back. I wanted to suprise Paul by having the apartment looking like a "home" but during our bitching match I told him my plans. Hopefully tomorrow I can get the cleaning and stuff done after work.
I swear when I walked out to the car tonight the car temp. said it was 93 degrees out at 9:14pm...Stupid hot weather.

I'm having second thoughts on getting married in Hawaii. I don't know, the major thing is to have my family at my side regardless of where I get hitched. But talking to my mom she said she sees me getting married in Las Vegas, in a very low key wedding. Paul wants a low key wedding on the beach... In my dreams I'd love to get married in Vegas and fly out to Hawaii with my folks and have a party back on Maui. Regardless of location, I've decided I'm not wearing a traditional wedding gown, nope not going to do it.

Oh, we married in a courthouse, just the two of us. We were going to keep it a secret until the wedding because we wanted to make sure that people would still take the wedding seriously, but then we decided to push the wedding back a year (because of money, of course). And there was no way we were going to hold onto a secret like that for almost two years!

And actually, it turns out it's becoming more and more common for people to get legally married first and then have the wedding later. A lot of it is for practical reasons, and ours was too: we were committed to each other already, but he needed health insurance. So we took care of the legal aspect, now he's covered by my policy, and so now if he badly breaks his leg before the wedding, we won't be bankrupted.

I would say go for it, personally. If it's something that the two of you want to do, then do it. From my experience so far, people are pretty understanding about this sort of thing.

Hope that helps. smile

You definitely want health insurance. I badly broke my wrist a few years ago (I totally shattered it!) while I was uninsured and got slammed with $25,000 in hospital bills for surgeries and physical therapy. You just never know what might happen, and any accident or illness that happens before the wedding could mean that you guys would be starting your new lives together in serious debt.

I'm glad to be of some help. And congrats darlin!
