so christmas is all done. next thing to look forward to is new years eve! yay! that's super exciting. i don't work new years day so i'll be relaxing at home, getting over my hangover.
christmas itself was great. before you ask, i didnt get many presents. that's not what christmas is about to me. it's about family. i'm a very family-oriented lady, so i take nights like that when i can get them. being that my extended family is all back in montreal, all i have in this city is mom dad brother and sister. none the less, we sat around the dining room table gorging ourselves on mille-feuilles and perogies and ... well, they gorged themselves on kubasa and other meats. i'm a vegetarian, so i has some pasta salad too. we were at the table for a total of about 3 hours. my brother and i had 4 bottles of red wine between the two of us. we were absolutely smashed. it was around that point that i decided that rubber gloves were necessary..

after wonderful chats and so much laughter, we headed to the living room to unwrap the presents under the tree. not before i smooshed a chocolate snack cake in my brother's face and then poured water on him. i'm one of those kind of big sisters.
that's a tub of gummi worms right there!
of the gifts i got, i was shocked that my brother actually got me one. really, i don't think that he could have picked a better gift for me. this game is called 'lightning reaction' and it hurts whoever loses via an electric shock. it's AWESOME! when i unwrapped it i said "OH YAY!! A GAME THAT HURTS PEOPLE!!"
all in all, i had a really great night. the good-morning hangover was not so good. sleeping on the couch was a little uncomfy, but i wouldn't trade it for anything else in the end. i'm super thankful for the gifts that i did get. i came back to my apartment the next day in time for my bestest friend lisa to come over. christmas was wonderful
when you get past the materialistic and religious aspect of christmas, it's just people who love each other. as corny as that is, i'm glad i have my family.
