Hi everyone,

I just got inspired by a thread here asking about the meaning behind our SG names. So starting explaining, I thought maybe the best is explain fully what means to you all!!!

Part 1:
Miss is a contraction of Mistress, which is something I do often ( FemDom, Dominatrix). Is referred to women who is not married, which is something I don't want be. Also is referred to girls who is under 18 years old.
If you think, "Miss" is like "miss", with totally different meaning, the second one is a verb and noun that means failure, error, mistake, etc. If you keep reading you will realised why I mention this part too.

Part 2:
Eris is the greek Goddess of strife and discord. Also is the name of the dwarf planet discover in 2015. And the main subject of the religion (also philosophy too) Discordianism being the only and main Goddess, founded in 1963 after the book Principia Discordia being published by Greg Hill with Kerry Wendell Thornley (under a very psychedelic names!). Additionally she appears in the Church of the SubGenius parody religion too.

As you can see, she is pretty popular somehow. At that time I found about her and all of this, it was very underground and difficult to find more information. Today we have almost everything in the "saint Internet".

I had always a big love for mythology. When I was 11 years old, we start have introduction to classic greek history, and we had to know some myths, I talked about the Judgement of Paris where she appear trowing the golden apple "for the most beautiful" and like this starting a big, big war...
The other kids never liked me and start call me Eris as a form of bullying because she was different and in this same story, nobody liked her and nobody invited her to the "big party". I was in real life like the Eris, I accept it and took with a lot of pride this name as my nick name then.

Later I discover that Eris had a good side like anything in this world. Hesiod described two sides of Eris, the one who was related to wars and negative things...and a good one who could even help lazy people to work harder to get what they wanted. This is something that has call a lot my attention, I wished one day be an example to help people to get motivated somehow.

Part 3:
Being call only Eris was not a very good option as a artistic name. As you can see, there is a lot of uses for the name itself. And as an artist I have been taught (by more the classics) that you must have a name and surname. At this time I had a surname and worked very well. Last year I decided change it for Miss Eris, no surname but something more simple focusing in the main point I want, Eris, which is a name that I believe sounds great, is original and I love it...today is part of me and everyone call me as Eris.

If you think, Miss Eris sounds like misery/miseries. You can notice I like to use negative connotations and turn it into something possibly good and positive. I believe that without misery, it wouldn't exist richness. ;D

I'm into discordianism since I'm a little teen, I highly recommend you read the Principia Discordia book too.

Really hope you guys enjoy it :)
And if you want comment a little bit about your nick name here, please feel free to do it. I would love hear some interesting stories <3
I'm thinking about since very, very long time tattoo something related to Discordianism, I still don't know yet what!! But I will share it here as soon I do it. :***

Xoxo, Eris
