You know on TV medical dramas when the person with the suspected brain tumor is fed into the big white tube to have a CAT scan? How about when the pregnant woman has that clear gel squished on her swollen belly so that she can see her unborn child on the ultrasound screen? Well I had the non-pregnant, non-brain tumor versions of both those scenes today. Good times. Truth be told, I quite relish new medical experiences. Especially since I'm pretty certain that I have no life threatening illnesses to worry about.

I shall clarify.

Some of you may remember that I was able to hear my blood pulsing in my left ear. Well, it never went away like I was hoping it would so I went to see my doctor who in turn sent me to get a CT scan and an ultrasound of my carotid arteries. So I did. Today.

Apparently for them to get a good scan of your body part in question they have to inject you with a mystery liquid (maybe it was called an indicator?). Now, as much as I relish new experiences, a couple of members can attest that I am completely freaked out by needles and injections and I had to endure not one but two today. Damn I'm brave.



Oh and did you know that they pre-warm the gel before they squish it on?

Sorry you had to endure the needles, I hope they weren't too painful.

I look forward to seeing you at deathcab, I'd love to see yyy's too but considering how much I blew at that lovely bookstore Borders today, I'm not sure I can $$$ it. Oh well. Take care and I'll see ya soon
