One of my dear friends wants to give me a huge gift card for the week before I have the baby to a maid service. I'm not a great housekeeper, and that's compounded by the fact that I work full time, have almost 4 year old twins and I'm pregnant. Before that, I was a full time student, worked full time and the kids, and even when it was just work and the twins, it was still extremely difficult to keep a clean house. Of course the basics are done, but it seems to never be done all at one time. Anyway, her gesture made me cry. Actually, I'm still crying now. I feel so blessed but so - I don't know... relieved/terrified/or something else. I'm not used to being the one who needs something from a friend. It's always been the other way around. I'm usually the rock, and the shoulder and the voice of reason. It feels gut wrenching but great at the same time to let myself be seen as weak and needing support.

awww that is so sweet of your friend! there's nothing wrong with stepping out of the position of being the rock/shoulder etc. and letting someone else fill in for awhile - you deserve the break!!
