There's been quite a bit of tension in the house lately, and it's largely to do with my mom's unwillingness to do... anything. It's really, really frustrating and it makes me wish that I had the cash to move right on out.

She's been so lazy lately! A while ago my sister and I took it upon ourselves to improve our diet - mom's pretty much a fan of food that's easy to prepare or instant, so it's either me cooking or my sister. I love to cook actually so it's not so much of a problem... but when my sister works late, and I've been out for the whole day inevitably it's a meal of oven chips... or sometimes even toast. Toast is not a nutritious meal, especially after a long day out, especially because usually I've been out climbing.

"Oh I'm so tired, I've been at work all day" no longer cuts it, she comes back, has a nap and then does bugger all for the entire day. She moans at us because we're lazy when in actual fact we're the only ones who cook, or clean, or take care of the washing and the gardening and... really it's just pissing me off.

I really compare her to my friend's families too, my friend Kay's family have always done loads of stuff with me; they give me lifts to places, let me stay over all the time, invite me for meals - I'm even going on holiday with them this year. The same with Dan, he gives me lifts to and from places at all hours... but when he came over the other night mom just... went to bed. Didn't even offer him a lift, it was a good job my sister was in because he would have had to walk back on his own in the middle of the night in the rain. It's as though she sees offering my friends a ride home as a massive trek... when in reality it's five minutes in the car every once in a while.

Much as I like to be independent and do things on my own... some support would be nice. She's not really a parent any more, she's completely irresponsible and behaves as though we're her keepers.

She's gonna have a fucking shock when we move out, she really is.

xx

maybe its time you put her in a care home and had the house to yourselves.
Suggest it see what she says.
