So today will go down as Employee Epic Fuck Up Day. So in the course of one day one of my guys does/reveals the following:
1) Not bother to tell me that he was going on vacation. He was going to be gone for 2 weeks and never bothered to tell me. On top of that he's known for months and lies to my boss as to what he's going to be doing.
2) Proceeds to fuck around and play games on his phone.
3) At some point, he told some guy to come in with his resume. On top of that, he tells me this about 30 minutes before this guy shows up. Didn't bother to think that he should clear this with me, or that maybe he was overstepping his bounds.
4) I learn that he's being a complete dick to one of our co-workers. Basically getting mad at the co-worker for wanting to turn on the lights, so he could see what he was working on.
Had it only been not telling me about leaving for vacation, I could've dealt with it. But the BS with having this dude come in, was the last straw. I got super pissed and started to chastise him. The guy could not see where he erred and tried to argue with me. At that point, I just told him to get the fuck out. I probably could've handled it better, but it was just too much shit for me to deal with in one day.
So he left, and I told my boss what happened. This culminated in a meeting with our CEO about the whole thing. That meeting ended with some good news: 2 of my guys are getting raises (which they really deserve). I'm glad some good came out of this, but I hope tomorrow goes better.
