1-800-flowers is a scrooge!!!
Ok so I got a buddy right....yeah I know who knew that someone would be so charitable as to be my friend anyway....my buddy and his wife have been trying to get pregnant for years and they finally did. They are so happy and she has to take it real easy because she has been pregnant before but had complications.
My buddy is in law enforcement but has had a particularly hard time getting on with the dept of his choice because it is a Dept of Defense dept and they have to have all kinds of extra paperwork and crap that normal police depts don't and they take forever to get a background check done. The funny thing is he has been a DoD cop before and I have no idea what the fuck is wrong with them. But I digress.
In the interim he was employed at 1-800-flowers. He was trying to help them put together a new training program and also help to make the main floor work more efficiently. Well they decide that he is too motivated for their liking and they lay him off. Now his pregnant wife works there as well and they didn't lay her off.
Oh did I forget to mention that they laid him off ON CHRISTMAS DAY!
They live in a little 5th wheel and are subsisting on like cheese and crackers. They are good people and I know business's need to lay people off every so often...it is the way of the world...but sweet shit on a stick!
Did they have to lay him off? with a pregnant wife? and on Christmas day? They couldn't wait another week?
Ok So I will NEVER use 1-800-flowers again. I am putting this out there so people can make up their own minds whether they want to patronize a company that so heartless as to lay off a man with a pregnant wife on Christmas Day.
I know it sound like something out of a scrooge movie, I couldn't beleive it either.
Anyway...just thought I would put that out there.
SOooooo what did everyone get for Christmas? Did you have a good one? Did you have a good holiday if you don't celebrate Christmas?
