Sooooo, I was nominated by @chef and @zen to post my favorite picture of myself. If you follow me on instagram or know me irl you know that I am soooo bad at choosing a 'favorite' because I have like 10 favorites of anything haha. So, I was going through all the photos on my phone and settled on these two photos, they represent two very different sides of me, so I thought, why not share both of them with all you beautiful people!
The first image is personal but it makes me feel so many emotions when I look at it. It's from a couple months ago when my Colorado family and I gathered on my bother's 31st birthday to celebrate his life. When I was planning it I knew I wanted to be able to share the celebration with my family in New Jersey and in the UK, so I asked one of my friends if they would be into photographing it. I did't realize how impactful the celebration would be for everyone. Not only was it beautiful to read the notes my friends wrote to those they've lost then watch the lanterns float away, but being surrounded by incredible people while we each found a moment of peace in the grief we are individually moving forward from was equally as amazing. In addition to loving the celebration, I love the colors in this photo and, to be honest, it makes me tear up a little whenever I look at it. My mom called my brother Sunshine and the brightness radiating in the lantern feels like he is right there with me, being the bright light that he always was and will continue to be in my memories.
And, to completely switch gears haha, @cygnet and I had the opportunity to shoot during the Chicago Shootfest! When I got this photo back I was like, wait, who's that?! *insert heart eye emojis* I love everything about this photo; from the colors, to my body position and mostly the confidence that is peaking out in it! As a bonus, working with @cygnet was a total dream!! She is so sweet, offered great direction and I cannot wait for the opportunity for us to work together again!
