Current music: Katie's delightful tipper-tapper on the keys.
The Bostonians Have Landed.
As far as I can tell Rachel and Ahlay are the luckiest people in America, and possibly the only people who flew around and from the North East yesterday and amazingly got where they needed to be exactly on time.
They were flying from Boston to New York to DC [to visit] and once they got to LaGuadia found that their flight to DC was cancelled, and that everyone was being dispersed onto other flights. They found themselves with two other travellers competeing for three seats on an 8:30 plane to DC, after beating up a little old lady and taking her twizzlers, they made it onto the plane, and arrived at Dulles at 9:55, exactly on time.

They have seen been in NoVa, with me. We went to ike's on campus last night, [which seemed to awe them] and then came home watched Blackadder "ball-bouncingly funny". This morning we rose bright and early and I showed them around campus a little bit, before packing them onto a bus and dispatching them to DC to go to the spy museum. Tomorrow, we plan on going into the city and doing some proper sight-seeing. It was profoundly exciting to see people being genuinely amazed by the sheer magnitude of GMU and the sheer genius of our JC.

Meanwhile, back in the deep recesses of Fenwick, I had my second bout of work at Archives and Special Collections. Today, I progressed all the way from "C" to "H" in the labelling and filing of all the dissertations, theses and projects of the master's program in 2006. I found that despite the slowness of the actuall work, that though reading people's CV's and browsing through the poetry and novels being made by the MFA's the time flew. It was some of the most monotonous and and delightfull work I have ever done. I find that my mind seems to almost leave my body and I go on a sort of auto-pilot. It's interesting and relaxing because I don't have to be thinking about anything at all. I'm just hanging in the air above Fenwick contemplating the greater mysteries of the Universe.

This evening, I imagine we will find some sustainence on campus, or possibly order in, depending on the concensus, and then take a little trek up the hill to the PV's. because the Bostonians are wildly excited about the prospect of hanging out in a cramped, porn filled trailer. Well, I mean, I love it there.

So, my weekend is progessing swimmingly, the only minor downfall I have ecountered was that I took a moment today to take a look at how much work I have to do, and sunday is going to be a very busy homework day indeed. I have to watch a film for 414, something incredibly depressing no doubt, and reading some essays about African-American conscienceness of the media [I only recently learnt to spell conscience, and I'm really really proud.]
