My new set is going up today!!! I'm so excited because I really love this one. (Hint: It's got an awesome typewriter and a garter and stockings.

I was flipping through the books at Good Vibes the other day and found this book called "The Straight Girl's Guide to Sleeping with Chicks," and in the section about hooking with with chicks with your guy, the author referred to the "elusive single woman" as a unicorn. I've never heard it before but I think it's pretty cool, so I'm gonna refer to them as unicorns from now on. We've only found one so far... most girls are attached to a not so cool guy. But that one unicorn was flipping awesome and we had the night of our lives!
I was at this party the other day, and while dancing, this guy brushed up against me and pulled my nose ring right out!! I've never heard of this happening to anyone, but this has already happened twice!! The first time was literally an hour after I got it pierced, and this second time, I ran to the bathroom to try to put it back in, but it FELL and went through the drain!! My beautiful diamond star... I suppose it might have been doomed from the start. I'm hopefully going to get it repierced/replaced today.
One last random note about my lazy days of summer. I've become obsessed. With knitting. It's weird, and I have yet to finish a project that I'm happy with. But now I've decided that I absolutely have to knit 1) a beautiful lace shawl out of this "Victorian Lace Today" book, and 2) my first pair of socks. Probably for the man. I'm not feeling too optimistic about the outcome, but hey! Something's gotta go right eventually, right?! Plus, I'm headed out to the East Coast next Monday, and according to this page on the TSA website, generally circular needles made out of bamboo or plastic should survive the checkpoints. Does anyone have any experience with taking knitting on to the airplane? I'd love to have something to do for the hours I'm bound to be sitting around at the airport and on the plane..
