Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal

Well the new year has been super exciting….

So far i have done nothing….
And I'm quite enjoying nothing…
Except for the fact, that Im doing nothing.

Being a chef, you work your whole life doing 10-12 hour shifts as a "normal" day. All of those hours are spent standing in some ergonomically wrong posture or another over a hot stove. So when you get time off, you really appreciate the act of "doing nothing". And don't be a smart arse and say we are never doing "nothing" because on a cellular level we are forever changing and growing.

Stuff You.

So…We love the fact of just sitting, reading, sleeping or even just staring blankly at nothing. It all appeals to someone. Until that point comes when you've spent too long doing nothing and are itching to work again. You find yourself awake at your usual working hours (late night) and obviously no one else is awake, so you are left to your own devices……

Drinking and YouTube…Sometimes porn. Hey we're all human, we all do it. No point being dishonest hahaha

But I have managed to find an outlet for those wee hours of the night/morning when I'm wide awake and have nothing to do.

The Gym.

To me the word has connotations of people wearing skin tight clothing, revealing all the nooks and crannies. Honestly, if your going to wear these clothes, just come in your underwear. The shock factor of you being partially nude will be over and most of us will get back to our own thing. Which is why we are there after all. To do our own thing. To improve ones self…..Im making it sound better than it is.

I've never been to the gym before. In high school I was at School by 8am, left at 3pm, went to Mauy Thai, had food, did homework until the early morning and then WASH RINSE REPEAT. Sometimes subbing Mauy Thai for Theatre rehearsals or other things. Point was i was active every minute. When I started chefing, I put on a few pounds, and growing older I "grew" into myself as everyone does.

But….

Now I consider myself overly large. And being short, makes it look more worse than it may actually be. SO, Im onto the exercise thing. And ill admit i enjoy it. Its a different sweat from working in high heats with close proximity to the person next to you, but its a good sweat.

HOWEVER…..I will never diet. NEVER. Not properly anyway. No Atkins, Dr Phil or Dr OZ for me. I love food wwaaaaayyyyyyy too much to sacrifice eating it, yes i may be more aware of what I'm eating and how much I shove into my face before a dinner service. But I not cut out those little things I love. Like bread. A sandwich is the key food for a chef with a million things to do. Mainly because he can eat and work with one free hand at the same time. it dosnt have to be pretty, cooked or even hot to be eaten. It is simply just EATEN.

WHat I'm getting around to is….I may post some "progress" photos, just as a reminder to myself where I am headed with it all. And your welcome to gawk and drool all you like. If your into slightly overweight short Gingers that is :)

Anywho, he's a photo of a sneaky bum shot.

Because, lets face it, thats how you get noticed on here right? kidding ;)

And don't worry, I know how bad it looks. green nail polish from Halloween, slightly overly camp smile thanks to alcohol. All relative of a good night out.

pomorum:
lol love the sneaky bum shot :) I've never been able to do the whole dieting thing. I've always been very active but part of it is so I don't have to sacrifice on the foods I love... which happen to be carbs haha. Good luck on the gym... its a great routine to have in life anyways... does lots of positive things for a person even when its just a little :)
