Why do cars give me so much trouble? Right now in my driveway I have three non running vehicles. A 1991 Mazda 323 with a dead battery and a cracked radiator, a 1969 Buick Skylark with a blown transmission, and a 1997 Mercury Sable with a blown head gasket. The Mazda would be the cheapest to fix, but it has tons of other things it would need in addition to the two items that it needs to run again. The Buick was in the shop already for the transmission and on the drive home the thing went again. It'll be going back in soon, but that doesn't help me right now. The Mercury isn't my car, it's Fenchurch's and it was our only means of getting around, food shopping, and to work. We'll make do with out it somehow, but it's really frustrating to have so many car problems all at once. And it's not like these cars are neglected. I've put $1500 in necessary maintenance into the Mazda since I got it. Just paid $2700 for the Buick's repairs, and the Mercury had just had an oil change and all the fluid levels checked last week. Maybe I'll chock it up to Murphy's Law and hope that when things start going right that they all start going right at once again.
