Ok, so the East Coast Camping Trip final plans have been posted. So far the response has been overwhelming. Nearly everyone plans to stay all four days. That was not at all what I expected. I had figured most people would only come Friday to Sunday, but I guess no one wants to miss a minute of this. And rightfully so.
I've gotten about 40 emails in the two days since the thread was posted. Replied to them all and got the info off to everyone who requested it. At this point the estimated headcount is 47 people, which I know will easily top 60 by the time this thing actually happens. Considering the first trip was 24 people and the second was 40, all of who were super cool. I just can't imagine how incredible this one will be since it seems like we have a real good contingent of great people interested in coming.
We have plans for hiking along these amazing trails with waterfalls, rafting down the Delaware River, two huge meals. One Seafood and Steak buffet and one Sunday morning Brunch before we all head home from the long weekend. Last night I started working out the menu and while it will be rather complicated to have it be a completely gourmet 4 star restaurant styled dinner out in the woods, I'm pretty sure the quality of the food will make up for the lack of stuffy atmosphere.
Some people are hemming an hawing about the $20 a day cost, but it's $9 dollars a day per person for the campsite alone. PayPal takes a percentage of the money from each person who uses that to pay. We're providing all the firewood, two meals, and comping all the SGs that come. So if $60 isn't worth all that, I don't know what is. If you still think it's too much, don't come. Your loss in the end.
But if any of you are still on the fence about whether or not you are coming for any other reasons, I cannot insist enough that you will deeply reget that you didn't once the pictures and stories get posted afterwards. It's going to be gropetastic.
