It's official, or at least if I can get one of those folks that makes the 'Official' threads to make it official then it will be, but for now springtime in NYC is here. And with that the craziness can commence. And I had a crazy weekend.

On one of the last bittercold nights of the year, hopefully, I took the train down to Philly to meet up with Mle, chrisalis, and a few non SG people to go see the Dali exhibit at the Art Museum. Not only was the show way overcrowded, they don't let you take emergency cell phone calls while you are viewing it, or so I found out the hard way. You see Fenchurch was making her way down from Vermont to NYC to catch a train to meet us in Philly. Complicated? Yes, and made even moreso by the fact that she wasn't supposed to take the train from NYC, but Newark, NJ. A small, minor detail her driver didn't understand. A few text messages later and we had that mostly sorted out.

She was a little behind schedule by the time she got to us, but seemed no worse for the wear, amazingly enough. So we headed off from the Ultra-Posh and uber expensive bar we were hanging out at back down to Delaware where we went to a restaurant/bar and had a couple of drinks and the Fenster got to put some food in her belly. Afterwards we whiled away the wee hours of the night with idle chat about the issues of the day. (aka... gossiped about you, dear reader.)

Had a quick breakfast in the afternoon with M, and then off we went on the train back to NJ. I love having along a guest on the train. It's such a pleasure to ride with someone and makes the short ride go by even that much faster.

Now I promised Fencha a few things when she came, some of which I delivered on, and some of which I failed miserably at. But if there is one thing that I am good at it's cooking dinner for guests that wash my dishes. And since she attacked the full sink with lightning breakneck speed and had them done within minutes, I whipped her up a flaming vodka sauce special in return.

I also promised a trip into NYC filled with spectacular views of firework displays (if she comes back on July 4th), Broadway shows (if she comes back down to see Spamalot with me), beautiful art galleries (next time), and a one off guided tour to all the city has to offer (including a restaurant where the waitresses are all drag queens). Instead we wandered around drinking vodka and cranberry juice on the DL, Yo. Met up with Sir SmellinofTroy and hit a local non carding bar. It was a simple night I admit, but fun and funny no less.

The last on my long list of broken promises was an incredibly heartwrenching one. I swore up and down how great NYC pizza is, and had every intention of taking her to my favorite place in the city. We drove up to 42nd and 6th, not on my normal path of things to do, just to hit Pronto Pizza. Well it seems that Pronto has fallen victim to a skyscraper build. I submit to you, dear reader, a plea of not guilty in my efforts to at least attempt to get her the best of the best pizza NYC has to offer. And on my knees I beg for forgiveness for the lame substitute of Thai food that had been reheated in a restaurant microwave, just because it was a last ditch effort to get her food before she had to leave. It will be my vision quest to find a pizza place that rivals Pronto before her next return if you the jury will have mercy on me this one time.

It was sad to let her go home. Spending time with Fenny is such a joy. We have so many things to talk about, and not just site gossip. Important things like bubbles, indoor ferris wheels, and big rims on SUVs. But the cool thing is whenever we are discussing these critical issues and others, she listens, and I listen to her. It's refreshing.

Please come again soon. There so much more to show you.
