I've started thinking about the events I'd like to plan and/or be a part of this year and it looks like it's going to end up being a pretty busy summer.
Mle and I have been discussing plans for a cool event for the Philly area which I think would end up sometime in late April once we get the ball rolling on that. I'd like to say more about what it might be, but at this point I can't, but trust me it's going to be bad ass.
Prom in SF in May. The only one that matters.
July 4th. I'm sure that SGNY will continue it's traditional Rooftop BBQ in style. This is the event of the year for us. It is also one of our biggest. Worth the trip for anyone who is considering coming to an SGNY party.
Derceto says there will be another SGNJ Great Adventure Trip. I'll be there for sure.
Don't know when the actual dates of the East Coast Camping Trip will be, but it's been held in mid July the last two years so that's most likely when we'll do it again. Also worth traveling a great distance for. It's always a good time.
A lot of people have been pushing SGNY to do a Prom type "Homecoming" event and I think this is the year we should really get one together. We held what turned into a weeklong party around New Years Eve back in 2002. I'd like to see if we can make this somewhat similiar. Not just one night with a Formal event, but a night out to see a Broadway show, maybe another rooftop BBQ, a pub crawl, and whatever else we come up with. An entire series of events. Most likely late August, before everyone goes back to school.
Then in September I'll be making the big move to San Francisco. This is going to be one crazy summer.
Edited to add: I do realize that by posting this I run the risk of people stealing my ideas. Go for it, but remember two things. You'll never do it half as big or nearly as good as the originaters. Imitated, but never duplicated.
