Oh lookie, I have seven favorite SGs and you don't!
This week the minimalism world tour takes us to Philadelphia for the Death Cab For Cutie / Pretty Girls Make Graves show. Followed closely by DJing a huge Halloween Party in Newark. It should be killer week.
I've seen PGMG before in San Francisco and they put on a great show. A tremendous amount of energy on stage. I'm really excited though, to be seeing Death Cab for the first time. I really want to hear how they recreate such lush songs in the live setting.
The party I'm DJing is an annual shin dig one of my old friends puts together. He has done it for the past 6 or 7 years and every year it gets crazier then the last. People go all out getting dressed up in costumes for it. Some of the best local DJs come out and rock it all night long. No attitude, just a lot of fun. I missed last years being out of state, but there's no way I was going to skip out again. Sorry Destro.
But the biggest and most exciting thing coming up is my trip back out to California. Flying into San Francisco and spending the first night kicking around. Probably hitting lil_tuffy's party. Then driving down to Los Angeles with GlassHeart and her boyfriend, TheTrooper for the SGLA Disneyland Event. That should be hot. It'll be my second time in California and this time I'm going to get to see a bit more of it then I did last time. I think we are taking the coast highway south and then the 5 back north, so at least one of the ways will be scenic and the other way will be quick. I'm cool with that. I just can't wait for it to happen already.

a) the fact that you have seven favorite SGs is fantastic, that was such a creative idea
b) i love minimalism. it's so odd to me because I don't exactly know why. i usually think of myself as an emotional person, or touched by emotion, but minimalism strikes me in a way that other art doesn't. it is so deceptively simplistic, and you can absorb and appreciate every formal element of every piece. or at least, i think so. I love Judd and Brancusi and the rest of the ol' minimalists. {sigh} I'd like to hear some of why you like Reinhardt so much - I think he's very interesting, but I don't know if I fully appreciate him.
c) the fact that you said i look like fiona apple is probably the best compliment that i have gotten while on this site. in which picture do you think i look like her? and thanks, {awkward giggle}.
d) i think i'll be at the SG cabaret in boston too...
