Before I moved to Buenos Aires I used to be in touch pretty regularly with quite a few people here that I had met through SG. It wasn't always easy to communicate with my poor Spanish skills and sometimes their lack of English, but we made do.

One person in particular was a former model. She and I wrote back and forth regarding music and a whole bunch of other things. Before I moved she left SG and we lost touch. In the four years I've been here I have never had the chance to meet her and I had always hoped that I might bump into her or that she was a friend of a friend or something like that.

Well it turns out she is. I saw her name on Facebook yesterday, checked the profile, and sure enough it was her. I clicked "Follow" so that I could get in touch with her during the week and say hello. I felt that adding her as a friend without an email might come across as strange.

I went to send her a quick message today and the link doesn't work. I'm assuming that I was blocked. I don't know if FB advises you when someone follows you or not, but if they do she either didn't remember me and didn't want to be followed by a stranger, or remembered me and maybe doesn't want any connection to SG. I can't imagine that she was creeped out in any way. As best I recall we always got on well. We were friends on Myspace when that page existed and then we simply lost touch.

I'm sort of bummed, because it was exciting to have found her after what has to be at least 6 years now.

Edit

It must have been some Facebook glitch, because I can see her profile now and am going to send her a hello. Fingers crossed she remembers me.
