It's not that I haven't been active. I still check SG almost every day. I do wish the community aspect was still here though. For the first 9 years nearly all of the events and people I had become close to were in some way related to this site.

The vast majority of my friends currently are still connected to this site, but there are very few events to attend anymore. The group of people I met when I first came to Argentina has splintered. This person doesn't talk to this one. If I have people over I can invite certain friends, but not others. Most of the drama between them is over petty shit. I just wish it was like it was when I arrived here two and half years ago.

I understand things change, people change. They have issues and whether or not I'm involved personally they still effect me personally. But to be very clear I don't take sides. Until someone fucks with me I hold no ill will towards them. And that's what makes this so tough. I love hosting parties. I did for many years back in the states. Before I was on SG and all through the good years on this site. I had hoped to continue that when I arrived.

I did have one party for my birthday in 2012, which was out of this world. SG Krito and I shared the event since we have the some birth date. There was about 50 people in a tiny apartment. At one point we tried to figure out how many different countries were represented at the party. I don't think we ever came up with a final number, but there were people from the US, Britain, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, and of course, Argentina.

The second party I hosted turned into a disaster. I won't go into the details, but it really put me off to doing any more for a while.

It's made me somewhat lonely here. I'm not homesick. There's nothing to go home to. It just that living in the center of a city as big as Buenos Aires with nothing fun to do on the weekends can be a bit frustrating.
