So something strange just happened. I was working on new songs all day yesterday and when I woke up today at 6am I was in the mood to hear them again. Since you're on top of them during the process sometimes the next day they don't sound as good and sometimes they sound even better than you think. You just need a bit of distance after spending so much time with them. I put on headphones and gave them a listen that way since I didn't want to disturb the upstairs neighbors. Around 9 am I decided it was time for breakfast. Only thing was I just noticed it was still dark at 9am. Why is that? Oh, it's um, 9pm.
I've been having nasty bouts with insomnia for the past few weeks, mostly because of stress, but last night I was finally able to hit bed and fall asleep right away at a decent hour. I think I was in bed by 12:30. So, let's see, I just slept somewhere around 17 hours. And I woke up feeling a hell of a lot less stressed than I have been for a long, long time.
