Yeah, without a doubt we were at some of the same shows! '88 was definitely the peak of that era of hardcore, and the peak of me going to shows. I was part of that "sneaker crew" skinhead period. Skater, straight edge, South Shore, into sports. So we were really into Youth of Today, Bold, Gorilla Biscuits, Warzone, AF, Slap Shot, Sick of it All, Wrecking Crew, etc. I was also really into post-punk new wave, too, so I was going to HC shows but still listening to The Smiths and The Cure. Don't tell anyone.
I graduated from HS in 1990, so those guys were all older than me and I didn't really know any of them, but I did interview a few people for my little 'zine I had in high school.
We should definitely get drunk together and act self-righteous about the "good old days" at some point.
