Tonight I went shopping. I bought the following items.

Ingrediants to make white sangria
A glass carafe
8 wine glasses
4 fancy dinner plates
4 fancy salad/appetizer plates.
A new shirt
Dishwasher detergent
Cat food

Whenever I buy myself nice things and try to improve my lifestyle I feel like the Ed Norton version of Tyler Durden. I can't help thinking, "Yeah, I have some nice stuff now, but for what? Who am I trying to impress?" Admittedly I desire a posh and stylish life. To eat at the nicest restaurants. To dress in the coolest clothes. To drive a bad ass car. I highly doubt that I'll ever achieve even half of these goals, but in some small way the little things I do to better myself make me feel at least one step closer. But for what?

If I were ever really rich, I'd probably give it all away.
