I wish more people had taken the question in my last journal seriously. It's from a series of questions this French guy I met is asking in a documentary film he is making. He's going around interviewing people about love. There were I think 25 questions in all that he was asking, but that one struck me as the most challenging.
Seriously, how many times can you fall in love in life? You see some people would say, an infinite number, undefined, but I disagree. I think it's just once. My feelings are that if you fall in love with someone, the deepest, purest love imaginable, then there is nothing you wouldn't do or sacrifice for them. It's the love that you would fight to keep and the one you would die for. No matter what the consequences. It's the one that lasts until the end of your life. Maybe I'm hopeless romantic at heart, but that's how I feel about it.
Anyway, on an unrelated note, I'm on vacation this week. Derceto moves in soon so I've been cleaning out and painting my former guest room to get it ready for him. When you used to have a two bedroom apartment all to yourself finding space for all of your stuff isn't easy, but it's making my already neat place even more organized. I'm impressed with how well it's gone. I've also been doing laundry all week. And getting rid of the clothes that I don't need anymore. I think at this point there isn't a single piece of clothing in my house except the stuff I'm wearing right now that isn't fresh and clean. I never knew I had so many towels and bed sheets before.
Also tomorrow I'm going to be heading to the airport to pick up my wonderful houseguest, hatefulerin who will be visiting for the next 5 days. I think it's been nearly 3 years since I've seen her last and I'm really looking forward to spending this time with her. We'll be hitting the city a few times over the next few days going out clubbing, to museums, to a Broadway show, and drinking. It's probably a good thing she doesn't live here year round, because we tend to go overboard on the drinks whenever we get together. And it's certainly not going to help that Derceto and I set up the new fully stocked bar in our place last night. But what the hell, I'm on vacation!
