I've started to notice a few people around here talking about it being the end of the year and their achievements during the past 12 months. And even though New Year's is one of my favorite holidays it hadn't really sunk in for me for some reason that 2009 is coming up so soon.

If you would have asked me to talk about the things...

Old school music part, um, 8, I think.

The Sundays

With a style reminiscent of The Smiths and an ephemeral, redheaded female vocalist, Harriett Wheeler, The Sundays released just three perfectly blissful albums during the late 80s and early 90s. Guitarist David Gavurin's jangly, folk inspired riffs set the mood for Wheeler's story telling lyrics, capturing beautifully personal and sometimes disturbing and twisted tales of...

One good turn deserves another.

A few weeks back I asked my friend, Kya to help me add a Spanish vocal sample to one of my new songs and she came through for me. The song turned out excellent and I played it at my gig on Saturday night. You can listen to it here. Her sample is at 24:59. So to return the favor...

you never responded to my text. Red and Gray or Red and Black?

I did see it. And I'm almost half done so far.

If I stay sober the rest of the week (not probable) it'll be out of here soon!

It's not often I complain about the quality of the photo sets here because, in all honesty, what initially appealed to me was the DIY style SG had. But with so much competition in the market now I understand completely why they've demanded a higher standard of quality from the models. I look at every set that comes into Member Review. Every single one of...

I'm a NY native. You know me, I've gone through 50, ooo name changes but this is kittyrollins. Native NYer. I hung around ABC around that time b/c I was so young. Brutally Familiar were awesome I remember.

Graffiti nostalgia, esp as a NYer as you know, is just awesome. Cost and Revs were totally amazing. I'll check out your article soon. Getting my drink on right now. biggrin

I'll be in the city this weekend and maybe extended into next week. Want to come in and visit?

I haven't had the chance to talk to too many engineers. They seemed very open when it came to sharing how they control the locomotives and how they liked some things better than others.

the best stories i got were out of a retired CSX (i think) train cop, who patrolled the tracks and took care of the dwellings and land that the railroad technically owned.

Stories of people getting run over by trains and drifters falling off freight cars.....some of the shit this dude shared with me was just scary.

A few years back I worked in an Italian restaurant as a saute chef. I loved the job for the most part, but my boss was a heartless bastard. I had been there for 6 years and decided it was time to ask, once again for my third raise. He took me into the office and said, "Do you know why McDonalds hires retards? They...

Ironically after loving the B-52's for I dunno, about 25 years or so, and yet never having seen them it turns out that after my last post they are coming to NJ to play in my hometown. FOR FREE.

Had a great weekend all around. On Friday night I went into the city to meet up with a complete stranger from Australia and go out...
