Don't worry about it. When I was 6 I had a broken wrist for three weeks, which my mom thought was sprained. It kept getting worse and worse. She STILL feels guilty about this, almost 20 years later.
Right now I have a broken collarbone, which still hurts after about 8 weeks, and I had a med student friend flat out tell me it *shouldn't.* Well it does, dammit!
